Taekwondo for Teenagers

Taekwondo for teenagers group are for teens between 13-17.  Many teens (and adults) look to Taekwondo as a fitness program. Taekwondo training is an excellent means of achieving overall body conditioning and weight control.  All parts of the body are used in a typical Taekwondo workout as well as learning valuable self-defense skills.

Taekwondo also exercises the mind. Through the exercise and movements involved in taekwondo training, the power of concentration is improved in order to accomplish the required techniques, self-confidence is improved as the individual achieves ever increasingly difficult goals, self-control is improved by learning to respond to any situation in a positive way,  and self-discipline is improved that force is taught as a defensive tool rather than an aggressive weapon.

As with the younger children, the self-discipline that develops as a result of learning and practicing the techniques usually carries over into other areas of the teenager's life. School grades often improve as teens learn to focus and concentrate to work toward achievement. The self-discipline and self-respect which Taekwondo develops can provide teenagers with the self confidence and ability to handle peer pressure.

Another great benefit is having lots of fun when meeting new friends and trying new challenges.  We encourage positive attitudes and good values.
